Rudra's pov

When we finally did reach the area, it was buzzing with people and noise. I could see many couples making their way into the theater, but here I am… with a third wheel.

I sighed since I couldn't do anything in this situation.

"Chelo, andhar chalte hai." I spoke while looking at Sugandha, who was busy checking the whole area.

(Let's go inside.)

"Ji" (yes), she said without even glancing at me once. Now she finds everything else attractive, besides me. Nice, I'm getting jealous of a destination? I'm being so foolish.

"I and Didi used to come here every month years ago." Raghu spoke while looking at me.

I raised my brows; I didn't expect Sugandha to be roaming through the cities. After all, this place was quite far from all the rural areas. She's quite daring for a woman.

"I'll get the tickets, stay here and look after your sister," I said.

"Kya?? Chota bhai, baadi didi ki khayal rakhega? Woh khudka khayal nahi rakh sakta, mere kya dekhega." Sugandha spoke while narrowing her eyes at Raghu.

(What?? Lil brother looking after his big sister? He can't even take care of himself, imagine looking after me.)

It's very obvious that this anger of hers towards him is because of the earlier incident at home; otherwise, she wouldn't let a scratch get her brother.

They both started arguing in the middle of the road, which made me rub my forehead in frustration. I and my siblings never ever fought with each other, so this was unusual for me.

"If you guys stop the drama, we can go inside and watch a real drama. Let me just get the tickets in peace; don't let me tie you people to a leash." I spoke those words looking at both of them, and they weren't happy with my choice of words, for sure. But… I couldn't care less, because I'm the elder, and I'll take full advantage of it. I shrugged and left to get the tickets.

As I was walking towards the ticket counter, someone bumped into my shoulder, which made me lose my balance, I was about to fall, but I somehow adjusted myself back into place.

I turned back to yell at the person for being so careless. As I looked at the person, he just stood there, with a big shawl around his upper body and face. I couldn't see his face, but… Just his eyes— it was menacing.

"Oyy, dikhai nahi deta kya? Pagal kahika." I yelled at the person.

(Can't you see? Idiot.)

He didn't say anything; he just stood there staring at me with… anger? That's all I could make out. But it didn't scare me one bit. I stepped closer to him, ready to fight if he did anything stupid.

"Speak something, mf," I said in a threatening way, as I didn't get any good vibes from him.

As I was so close to grabbing his collar, some man came in between.

"Maaf kariye, woh bol nahi sakta." The man said and tried to get the other guy with him, but that shawl man refused to budge.

I didn't say anything else, since he was mute. I was wrong for yelling at him to say something.

"It's okay; I'm sorry from my side as well. It was wrong of me to assume that he can speak." I said and turned towards the ticket counter and started walking.

Something inside me was telling me that… The man was not right, and my mind wanted to take one last glance at him.

I turned my head back, and he was setting his shawl onto his shoulder; that's when I saw an om tattooed on his forearm. We then made eye contact, and the aura between us wasn't pleasant. I never felt this way before.

For some reason, that tattoo felt familiar…

I shrugged off my thoughts as overthinking, and that guy must have just had a bad day.

I got the tickets and got back to the fussy cats.

"Let's go," I said, and they followed behind me.

"What took you so long?" Sugandha asked.

"The line." I lied like a professional, and she fell for it like a professional believer.

As soon as we got to our seats, I hurried to sit in the middle, but that kid Raghu ran past me and sat in the middle.

Aghh! So annoying. I really wanted to run and catch his ass, but I can't embarrass myself.

As he sat in the middle, I glared at him and sat beside him, and Sugandha did the same.

The movie started, and both of them got enticed by it. I leaned back and tried to get Sugandha's attention.

It didn't work at all!

After 20 minutes or so… I slowly bent towards the side and tried to get her attention by my touch.

Just then Raghu leaned back, and my hand got crushed between him and the seat.

"Jiju, remove your hand; it's uncomfortable for me to sit like this," Raghu said.

Wow, an actor. I can tell that he's controlling his laughter. Sugandha, being a naive being, supported his statement and continued to watch the movie.

After 30 minutes or so, I was thinking of ideas to get her attention. I got a few but was skeptical about implementing them.

I cleared my throat a little and tried to make faint sounds.

Psss, psss… pssssss…..

"Ji, i…idher sanp hai kya?" I heard a woman behind me speak.

(I..is there a snake here?)

I facepalmed myself and immediately stopped my silly actions.

"Kya sanp sanp… movie toh dekh, lagta hai ghar pe reh reh ke tere kaan kuch bhi sun leh rahe." The man behind me said.

(Snake? There's no snake here. Focus on the movie… It seems like your hearing has gone insane after staying at home for days.)

It was so embarrassing. All my actions got the attention of everyone around me besides Sugandha.

Why isn't she craving to talk to me…? Or at least look at me.

"It's better if you focus on the movie, brother-in-law. No romance in public places." I heard Raghu speaking.

I removed the hand from my face and glared at him. He was grinning in my face. What a naughty boy… He made sure that he'd ruin my fantasies.

At the interval, I stood up to get them something to eat.

"Mein bhi aaungi!" Sugandha said excitedly.

"No, crowded places are not fit for women. Sit here and wait for me." I said it sternly and left.

Sugandha's pov

I got upset at his words. So what if the world is not a nice place for women? Can't he protect his woman? Instead of keeping the wives locked and stealing the fun, why not protect them? That's what husbands are for….

I made an upset face, and Raghu noticed it immediately.

"Kya didi, aap abhi bacchi nahi ho, baadi hogai ho." He said while giggling…

(Sis, you're no longer a kid… behave like an adult.)

"Keep your mouth shut, or I'll stitch it with my professional hands." I spoke while looking ahead.

I heard him sigh and lean back. "Well… why are you not giving Jiju any attention? He's looking desperate."

My pupils dilated a bit. How did he manage to notice that?

"What attention? I didn't hear anything silly." I tried to mask it.

"I never mentioned that he made silly noises." He spoke with a smirk.

I closed my eyes tightly. How can I be this dumb? I can never lie properly.

As we were talking, Rudra ji came back. I immediately shifted my attention to avoid any embarrassment.

My eyes lit up; he managed to bring my favorite kachori and soda to pair it up with!

I grinned ear to ear and snatched my food. I started eating and savored every moment of it.

"No one's going to steal your food, sis." Raghu said while chuckling but earned a light smack by Rudra.

"Let her enjoy it." He said with his manly voice.

I was drinking the soda while looking at him as he was still standing.

"I want to taste it." He said.

"Didn't you bring yours?" I asked while wiping my mouth.

"No… there were only two left." He spoke while looking at my lips.

"Then drink mine…" Raghu said with his sweetest voice.

I know for sure that this will annoy Rudra ji. Poor Raghu, he just wanted to be polite.

Rudra ji narrowed his eyes at Raghu, and I chuckled.

"Here, drink it." I said and passed the bottle.

He took it without any hesitation and drank it in one go. I was mesmerized by the sight of his neck…. It looked so good while gulping the drink. As our eyes met, he passed a smirk at me.

I averted my gaze and spoke. "Sit back down… The movie is about to start."

He did just that, and the movie also has started. Don't get me wrong, the movie was really nice… But I also really loved the desperate side of Rudra Ji.

10 mins passed… Then… 15, and then 25…

I didn't get any sounds or anything. Did he stop trying? But why?

I looked at him, and he was looking straight at me, and my eyes widened.

W…was he looking at me all this time? The thought is enticing but also a bit… obsessive.

When I looked at him again, he was looking at the movie.

Why isn't he doing anything???

Is he upset? Did I go overboard by ignoring?

Ahh, my mind is blasted by negative assumptions.

"Raghu…" I whispered.

"Kya didi?? Dono movie pe focus nahi kar sakte kya? Romance hi karna tha toh ghar par hii rehte." He said.

(What sis? You guys can't even focus on the movie. If you just want to do some romance, then you people should've stayed at home.)

I pinched his arm, and he yelped. He should be grateful that I even agreed to bring him along.

"Tu idher baith, mujhe tere seaeet pe baithna hai." I said while nudging him.

He huffed and switched places with me. I smiled to myself and glanced at Rudra Ji, but he was still not looking at me.

I tried leaning towards him, but I could feel that he was leaning away from me.

Why??

I wrapped my hand around his arm and brought him close.

"Rudra ji…." I said lowly.

"Mhm.."

"Kya mhmm?? Kuch toh bolo"

(what mhm? Say something)

"Kya bolu?"

(Say what)

"Why are you looking at the heroine? Look at me…!"

He sighed and finally looked at me.

"I'm jealous…"

"Of what?"

"The heroine."

"She's just an actress."

"B…but w..why did she wear such short clothes?"

"Because they're actors."

"Mhm, but… I don't like you looking at that."

"Sugandha… Stop being so foolish."

"Rudra ji… woh… umm… Will you look at me if I wore the same?"

I don't know what came over me when I spoke those words. But this dialogue made Rudra Ji's eyes widen to their full extent. I gulped, feeling tense… Is that even appropriate to say?

"N...not in front of everyone, but only for you…" I said and met my eyes with his.

This time, his mouth formed a slight smile.

"S…sure, I…I'll buy something similar. S…soon…" he said with a smirk.

I never heard him stutter after the first few days of our marriage. Is he nervous? But why? All the city girls dress like that…

As the movie came to an end, we were about to leave the theater. Before I could walk forward, Rudra Ji pulled me back by my arm and kissed me.

My eyes widened, and I immediately pushed him away, and the lights came on. We were so close to getting caught…. Why isn't Rudra ji afraid of anything?

I was really hungry. Rudra Ji asked us to eat at a restaurant, but… I love home food; nothing can replace it. And mainly Tulasi's food!

I'm coming, my favorite food…
