Currently, Tulasi is devouring the food. She was starving, plus she had never eaten anything like this before. Indra was just watching her eat while resting his hand on the table and his head on his palm.
Tulasi was in her whole world. She always eats what she cooks and has never eaten anything outside of her house. So... this was a big deal for her.
Indra was amused. He has never seen her this energetic or happy to just eat a meal.
"Indra ji, won't you eat...? It's so good." Tulasi said.
"No... I don't eat outside food. It'll ruin my handsome body. I don't want to grow a belly like my uncles. I want to look dashing forever for my dear wife. So... that, mhm... she'll get seduced by me every time." Indra said with a smirk.
Tulasi's face was stuffed with food. And her face was red due to his words. Thankfully no one heard him, she thought.
She started choking; Indra immediately rubbed her back and made her drink some water.
"Slow down, Tulasi. The food will not run away." Indra said.
She looked at him after gulping the water.
"Indra ji, I know that. I choked on my food because of your words. Y... you have no shame; you say such stuff in public." Tulasi said with a blushing pout.
"What...? No one heard us. I can kiss you right now, and no one will witness it. It's a private area" he said.
"Indra ji!! A..aap... Aap aise nahi kar sakte. A...aap toh besharam hai. M..mujhe w..woh sabh bahar nahi karni" Tulasi said.
(Y...you, you can't do that. You're so shameless. I... I don't want to do all that outside of our house.)
Indra gripped her lips in a big pout. And leaning closer, he smiled on her face.
"I.. Indra ji" her words were muffled by his grip on her cheeks.
Indra then pecked her pouty lips once...twice...thrice... And then got pushed by Tulasi.
"Indra ji!! S..stop it! Please... I.. I... don't do this outside." Tulasi was a red tomato now.
Indra started laughing. He finds her cuteness so adorable.
"So... I can kiss you however I want at our house?" Indra asked with a smirk.
Tulasi's eyes fluttered, and she looked down.
"Y..yes" she said.
Indra smiled at her naive personality. He hugged her and pecked her hair.
"Tulasi, you're just... I don't know what you're doing to me, but... It's becoming so hard to even hurt you ever so slightly. I can't even yell at you now." He said.
Tulasi didn't hug back as she was super shy. But.... she felt happy that her husband is so expressive and likes her so much.
Indra then looked at her with a smile.
"One last thing before we go home. Let's go ride that Ferris wheel that we've seen earlier." He said.
Tulasi's smile dropped. She's so afraid of heights.
"N..no, let's go home, Indra ji. I'm so tired" she said with a nervous smile.
"There's no way we're going home without riding that. If you don't walk your way there, then I'll carry you there." Indra said with a playful smirk.
Tulasi then immediately stood up with a tight smile.
"L.. let's go!" She said.
Indra chuckled. He can sense that she's afraid of heights. Or else she would've made him ride it the moment they entered here.
They made their way towards the Ferris wheel. Tulasi's expression was petrifying. She's so scared, her heart was racing. In comparison, she was more scared of the Ferris wheel than her marriage with an unknown man. But she still wanted to do it for Indra. She wants to experience everything with him... fear, happiness, sadness, and pleasure.
They had been in the line for a while now. It was then time for their turn. Indra made her sit inside it first, but Tulasi was so shaky, like a leaf. She held Indra's arms the whole time; she refused to let go.
Indra eventually sat beside her. Tulasi was clutching his shirt already, before the ride even started.
The ride did start, and Tulasi was just... petrified by everything now.
The Ferris wheel started moving. Tulasi started hugging Indra like a sloth that hugs the trees.
Indra was having so much fun, watching her being so scared.
The ride started becoming faster; Tulasi was screaming in horror into Indra's chest.
"Tulasi, don't be so scared... It's just a ride." Indra said loudly.
"i... indra ji!! M...make it stop. Please... I beg you... I... I can't. This is... ahhhhh!" Tulasi started screaming again when the Ferris wheel took them down with a force.
Their hair and clothes were blowing due to the wind. Tulasi's headpallu was gone now. Indra could look at her terror-expressive face. She looked so scared. And he heard her chanting the Hanuman Chalisa into his chest.
Indra started laughing. And rubbed her back.
"Tulasi, it's when you're scared of ghosts only. It doesn't work for Ferris wheel" he said while laughing.
She peeped at him, with tears.
"T...then there are mantras for this thing??? Why didn't they put them on a board or something? So that I can memorize and chant it" Tulasi said.
"Tulasi, this is just a ride, and... Why are you tearing up over such a small thing? You're such a scaredy cat, Tulasi." Indra said.
Tulasi wants to become his second skin at this point.
"B... because I'm scared of such stuff. T... this is not fun at all." Tulasi said.
"Mhm...look at me; I'll make your fears vanish in a second. Then it'll be fun for you." Indra said.
Tulasi slowly raised her head and looked at him and only into his eyes.
Indra took her pallu and covered both their faces. He looked at her scared face and then launched into a kiss.
It was so passionate that Tulasi was forgetting that they were in the air. It slowly became sloppy because Indra was feasting on her lips.
Her moans of fear became the ones of pleasure. Then... the ride became slower, indicating that it was about to come to a stop.
Indra pulled back after a longing peck and removed the pallu.
They both looked at each other while panting and with flushed faces. Tulasi felt the intense butterflies. Now she's only remembering this ride as a lovely memory and not a scary thing.
They got down the ride, and Indra covered her head with that pallu again. He held her wrist and guided her towards the parked motorcycle.
They both started their journey again, and the whole time, Tulasi hugged him from behind on the motorcycle. This was the only time she could be expressive. Once they reach the house, it's a different story.
Indra's pov
We reached our house at 8 pm. Tulasi got down first and stepped inside with a bag that contains the shopping that we did.
I followed her behind after parking the motorcycle. When I stepped in, I found Tulasi standing there. Maa and Nalini were sitting in the hall, doing some sewing.
"Maa, take a look... We bought some sadi and accessories for you and nalini." I said with a smile.
I thought mother would be happy, but she wasn't. Nalini seemed happy. But I don't understand why my mother is not even smiling.
I told Tulasi to hand them over on her own. And she did. But I saw Tulasi shaking a little. I was super confused. The temperature is not that cool.
"Bhaiya, they're so good! I love it" Nalini said with a grin.
"it's your bhabhi's selection. Of course it'll be good. And... maa, do you like your sadi?" I asked.
My mother looked at me. "It's fine; I've seen better ones. This is old-fashioned now. It doesn't fit our standards, but it's fine for daily wear."
I was caught off guard by her bitter answer. She never behaves like that with me or Rudra. But... I've seen many mothers-in-law behaving strictly with their daughters-in-law to keep them in grip, and my mom also rants about such things. So yeah... I get it. I do understand some sternness... Because she's an elder, and Tulasi is the bahu of the house.
"Bhaiya, I have some work stuff to discuss with you." Rudra broke my thoughts. I looked at him and nodded, then walked away.
~Time skip~
We finished dinner and everything, and I was on the bed, waiting for Tulasi.
She's taking so long. Well.... I can't complain; I'm the one who told her to do everything. I feel so bad now. She seemed super tired when we walked in, and she has to do the rest of the household work on her own. But I'm a gram pramukh; my decisions are calculated. Doesn't matter if it's outside or inside the house. Everyone should face punishments when they do something wrong.
I was wondering about my own decisions, and then Tulasi entered the room with my glass of kesar milk as usual.
She removed her headwear; I can see the tiredness in her face. I didn't want to put more pressure on her. I took the glass and drank it.
She was sitting on her side of the bed; I pulled her onto my chest.
"Sleep, tulasi. You need rest. I won't trouble your body today." I said while caressing her hair gently.
She seemed relieved after my words. She closed her eyes while laying her head against my chest.
I have an important gram meeting the next day; I need to go early in the morning. I need sleep for my brain to be working perfectly.
