Tulasi's pov

I watched Indra ji leaving with Keshav ji for some work. I smiled and made my way towards the kitchen.

My smile vanished when I saw the scene infront of me. My face turned red. I immediately turned around.

"M…maine kuch nahi dekha." I said hurriedly.

(I didn't see anything.)

Rudra ji was hugging Sugandha from behind, and they were having their time…. Omg, I ruined it… But how would I know that they're going to do some romance in the kitchen?

I heard Rudra ji clearing his throat and walked past me. I sighed and turned around.

Sugandha seemed so shy; I giggled. "Don't be shy; even Indra ji is the same as Rudr—" I bit my tongue. I don't know why I embarrass myself.

We both broke out into laughter. Nalini walked in; she seemed… upset.

"What happened, Nalini?" I asked.

"N…nothing. M...maa said that she'll set the date for my marriage." She said, and our smiles dropped.

I don't understand why Maa ji is forcing Nalini; I thought she loved her daughter so much, but I guess she also only loves her sons more, just like every average mother here.

I hugged her. "It's okay, we're with you." She cried in my embrace.

Sugandha rubbed her back, trying to calm her down. I sighed… I hope Shiv ji will find her happiness.

Indra's pov

Rudra said that he wants to rest today, so I took Keshav with me since he was free today. We were actually going to Tulasi's village; I wanted to tell her, but… something stopped me.

Time passed, and we finished our work; it was now evening. We were walking near some remote area, discussing work.

Then I saw a group of men drinking and playing cards while smoking. I saw someone familiar, and I walked closer. It was Tulasi's brother; I didn't know that he had bad habits like this; he was a college student.

"Shiva, what are you doing here? With these types of people?" I asked.

He looked at me; his eyes were actually red, hinting to me that he was doing some other substances as well. The realization pissed me off. He was my wife's brother after all.

He smirked and made his way towards me while he looked like he wasn't in his senses at all.

"Ohhhh, the great Indra is here…" he said while laughing.

I clenched my fist. "Do your parents know that you're doing all this?"

"Why does that matter? I have full freedom, unlike my sister." He laughed like a maniac.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.

"Ohhhh, you don't know anything, right? Let me enlighten you then. That maha rani was just a slave at our house; she was good for nothing. But yeah, she was a great help around the house; that's the only reason we tolerated her." He said while stumbling around.

My anger coursed through me, and I grabbed his collar. "What are you talking about?"

"She's just a girl who got used by a man; sadly, you didn't even know about that. My parents didn't disclose anything for money; you were rich after all." He said.

I gripped him tighter; I was literally choking him. I don't understand what he is talking about. Got used by a man? Just a slave?

"If you don't tell me everything in detail, then I'll fuck you up." I yelled out loud.

He was smiling like he cares about nothing. "I'll tell the truth if you give me your sister. You know, when I saw her at her birthday party, she looked too sexy to control. She has some nice body structu—" I was about to beat him up for even thinking about my sister in a wrong way.

But before I could even touch him, Keshav punched him in the face. He kept beating him up.

I don't know what to make of this. He looked so angry; I've never seen him like this. But first, I need to find the truth…

I pulled Keshav back, but he wasn't ready to calm down at all. "Keshav!! First, I need to know what he was talking about regarding Tulasi's past."

He obeyed and stood aside while glaring at Shiva. I bent down to that asshole's face.

"If you don't tell me the truth, then your parents will lose their son. I don't care if you're my wife's brother." I said while gritting my teeth.

He spit out a little blood and grinned like a psychopath. "Why don't you ask your wife then? Your wife got used by a man; what a humiliation. My mother should've killed that bitch; she ruined our family's name."

"You bastard!!! One more word and I'll not hesitate to kill you right here." I kicked him in the stomach.

He was coughing while panting. I was trying to control myself, oh man… how much I want to end his life.

"Look… I don't know what exactly happened, but she was in the hospital a few years ago. When we got to know that, we rushed there. But the doctor said that she went through extreme trauma. When she woke up, she kept saying that a man tried to kidnap and ra** her." He muttered out.

"Who's he!??" I asked in rage; I really wanted to know everything now. I was also upset that Tulasi didn't try to tell me anything about her past.

"W…we don't know." He said, and I stomped on his hand.

"You better not lie." I said in a threatening tone, and he groaned in pain.

"I…I promise, I'm not lying." He said.

I growled in frustration. Tulasi had such a past, but she didn't trust me enough to share. She didn't even tell me that her family used to torture her. No wonder she never contacted them after marriage.

I stormed towards my motorcycle; I needed to see Tulasi as soon as possible. Keshav followed me behind.

I don't know what's happening in my life; it's like God doesn't want us to be happy together. But I'm more disappointed at Tulasi; if she loves me, then she would've told me everything.

Author pov

Tulasi was gossiping with Sugandha and Nalini. Then they heard the horn of Indra's motorcycle; Nalini opened the gate.

She was surprised to see Keshav. She gulped when she saw him glaring at her. She hurried back to the balcony; she didn't want to face him at all.

Indra walked inside the house, and Keshav followed Nalini's way. No one noticed it.

Tulasi glanced at Indra. She's always happy to see him. "You're back early today, Indra ji."

Indra hummed and walked inside their room. Tulasi furrowed her brows in confusion, but she followed him inside anyway.

Indra was on the bed, rubbing his forehead. Tulasi sat next to him. "Ji, I asked for samosa…. But you didn't bring them." She spoke with an upset tone.

Indra didn't answer. Tulasi sighed and hugged him from the side. "It's okay, I'm not sad."

Indra hesitated but hugged her back tightly. "Tulasi, I want to ask you something. Will you be honest.?"

"Ji… why would I lie to you?" Tulasi spoke while caressing his hair.

"Before our marriage, were you in any relationship or... like anything related to other men?" Indra asked, breathing heavily.

Tulasi's smile vanished; she didn't know what to tell him now. She was utterly quiet.

Indra gripped her waist tighter; his suspicions were proved correct. She didn't deny it, and she just fell silent.

"Tulasi, was your family good with you?" Indra asked another question.

"Indra ji… Why are you asking all of these so suddenly? I never had any relationship with any man before marriage, and… my parents treated me well." Her heart was aching while she spoke out.

"Do you trust me, Tulasi?" Indra asked with a sad smile. He knows that she's lying, and he can't help but feel extremely disappointed.

"Yes, more than myself." Tulasi said.

Indra broke the hug and locked his eyes with hers. He was trying to read her feelings. It was very clear that she's lying and was even guilty about it.

Indra hummed. "I love you, Tulasi. Just remember that I'll love you no matter what."

Tulasi gulped. "Me too..."
